about

“Cotton Shirts,” Revolution, I Love You’s new single, is a slow jam. Sort of. Building from 808s, snap samples, and a single-note piano melody to a dense, reverb-drenched climax, it draws equally from mid-90s R&B, James Blake, Massive Attack, and M83. This is R,ILY’s first release since their debut full-length album, We Choose to Go to the Moon, in September 2011.

Track Name: Cotton Shirts
I asked you to meet me where
they tie the boats
It's dark now and no one knows
that we're alone

If you're scared, I'll dive in first
with expert form
There's no need for our cotton shirts
the water's warm

If you jump in quickly
no one will know
If you jump in with me
I won't tell a soul
If you get your hair wet
I'll kiss you right now
If you get your hair wet
I'll kiss you on the mouth
