Here's the beach where I would go when I was a kid The sand's black, the water's grey in the North Atlantic We'd anchor my granddad's boat here in the wet sand I'd tie it with knots I learned with eight year old hands You told me you can't swim and come from a long line of skinny midwestern folks who like their feet dry You know I'd never pull you out into the waves I just want you to know the world can be this way, that something could be this big Kiss me now, while your lips taste like suntan lotion Close your eyes and listen for the breaking ocean Just trust me, kick off your shoes and cuff up your jeans I won't take you past the point the waves touch your knees You know I'd never pull you out into the waves I just want you to know the world can be this way, that something could be this big

I just want to write a song more clever than this but you pay good money by the hour to keep me working I know my time's not my own but my time is precious I've got better things to do at least better than this When I look out on the bigger things I would change it all, I would change it all When I look out on the bigger things I would change it all There's still cities left to burn There's still buildings left unturned So what the hell are you waiting for? There's still cities left to burn There's still buildings left unturned So whatcha waiting for? My boss once told me that I was the perfect worker He knows my heart is somewhere else but that won't last forever Because I got more debts than I can pay and no money saved I need him more than he needs me and he likes it that way When I look out on the bigger things I would change it all, I would change it all When I look out on the bigger things I would change it all There's still cities left to burn There's still buildings left unturned So what the hell are you waiting for? There's still cities left to burn There's still buildings left unturned So whatcha waiting for? I know my time's not my own

I know I said I get restless quickly I don't stay in getting high all day but you're so pretty in my tshirt, if you wear nothing else, I'll stay I just want to kill time with you The sun's gone up and back down the curtains the shadows crossing your legs are long You fell asleep with your cigarette lit I'll put it out in my soda can I just want to kill time with you

about

The Atlantic Ocean EP is Revolution, I Love You’s attempt to use the disparate trappings of their sound, the punk guitars, drum machines, and noisy synthesizers, to make something resembling classic rock n roll. The songs are influenced as much by The Replacements, Bruce Springsteen, and Big Star as they are by the electronica and hip hop artists whose influence was so prevalent on Revolution, I Love You’s earlier recordings.

about

Revolution, I Love You Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Revolution, I Love You makes electronic rock, merging fuzzy guitars and dramatic choruses with a backbone of live drums, electronic beats, and buzzing bass. Katrina Murray of The Key (WXPN) says, “Crunchy synth work and loud guitar riffs are central to Revolution, I Love You‘s modern twist on classic rock ‘n roll.” ... more
